The media has gone off into its usual tizzy that slugger Alex Rodriguez and Madonna may be dating.  Sure, both of them are divorced or are in the process of being divorced and both of them are very high profile people, but many people go through divorces and meet other people almost immediately.  The question that I have is: Is the media also fixated on this pair because of the fact that Madonna is 17 years older than A-Rod? Would they bat an eye if he was the 50-year-old and she was the 33-year-old?

Yeah, I know. Don’t ask dumb questions.

Of course, this whole thing will continue over the next several months. Hey, it’s one form of baseball news during the offseason, right?
