Whither Beckett will appear for Red Sox?
Yes, I know this seems like a Red Sox-centric blog even though I proclaim myself a Mets fan. When the Mets DO something in the upcoming weeks, I’ll definitely blog about it. Now, to turn my attention to Game 6 tomorrow, where Boston will be sending Josh Beckett to the mound and likely ferverently praying that he somehow regains his mojo, the one that made him one of the most dominant postseason pitchers of this past decade. Austin Powers may even be somewhere in the past looking for it.
Because if Beckett shows his dominant form, surely Jon Lester will feed off that if he is able to get the ball in Game 7. This is what it is going to come down to on Saturday: Josh Beckett pitching nearly lights out and the Red Sox getting to Rays starter James Shields. Otherwise Tampa Bay will be booking World Series tickets while Boston players either will stay in Florida to work on their golf game or go back to Boston to get their stuff and THEN return to Florida to work on their golf game…
